Hello! My name is Stacey Greb and I want to tell you a little bit about myself and why I am fulfilling a career long dream to be a Fulbright Scholar and also why it is so important to me.
I am a kindergarten teacher at Altus Early Childhood Center in Altus, Oklahoma. This is my eleventh year of teaching. I am certified as a principal for elementary through high school. I am also a certified Teacher of English as a Second Language, Fundamentals of Mindfulness and Tai Chi.
My lifelong interest has been to travel to different countries to get to know their people, language and culture. My objective for participating in the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program is to globalize my school and community. And as a benefit of being in this program, I get to experience a school and community in Senegal, in West Africa.
I believe it is essential for Americans to realize that they are but one piece in the global puzzle. Further, I want my students and fellow teachers to realize that to be successful global citizens, we must be actively learning other languages, the significance of other cultures, and how we can work together with others outside our country to thrive as global citizens.
